Note to Paul. You must be Class D to play 8-man football. USA cannot play 8-man simply because they have a small number of players.

With that said I'm not sure why Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian classified as Class B on MHSAA site has an 8-man team except that that was for a co-op with other schools that never materialized.

The MHSAA website is agonizingly slow on presenting pertinent data.

If you go to Searn's website you find that the guys there (Searn, MrNCAA, HSSportsGuru, etc are e-mailing the states "official" site with corrections and updates on what's really happening in high school football around the state.

Sincerely,

CC, I did not know that, but I was simply using USA as an example of how a team with low numbers can succeed in 11 man football. Thanks for the heads up on that, though.

Actually I believe the MHSAA removed the size restriction on eligibilty for 8-man football this year. Last year it was based on number of students in your high school, not class. This year anyone can choose to play 8-man. The rumor is that if they (MHSAA) can get 16 or more teams to play 8-man next year, they will hold a tourny.
